Springing
Spring is pretty Super
Since the honey bottles are all gone, it's a good thing to see the new honey coming in. The bottom two boxes in our stacks are busy with raising up bees, and that will keep growing until the summer. On top of those we stack boxes with a special purpose, they will only contain honey! Once the queen reaches the area in the hive with a solid band of honey, she turns around and lays her eggs below that. In some hives we install a small barrier to keep her out, but that isn't always needed ( and as most things in beekeeping, it has its own ardent debaters ).
So now we wait, and watch and keep stacking as the boxes fill up.
