Honey

HONEY IS HERE

I'm waiting on another batch of labels to show up, but we put 83lbs in bottles and I'm pretty excited about that. This year the honey has a deep amber color, darker than last year I think. But the flavor is more like clover honey, or more neutral than last year. I usually associate a lighter flavor with a lighter color, so that is interesting to me. I am watching the weather and flowers, but it seems to be drying up so that could mean that we are approaching the end of the honey flow. Then I'll take the second "pull" of boxes, and start preparing for the fall and winter in the bee yard. Bunce Apiary Bunce Apiary

In the mean time though, lemon thyme and oregano are still very popular in the front yard garden, covered by up to 20 bees at a single glance. But you saw those last week. What's new and unusual in the back yard is honeybees on the Crown of Thorns (Euphorbia milii)
